Dauernd musst Du etwas machen was keinen Anfang und kein Ende hat
»A reprendre depuis le début. Il faut être absolument moderne.« (Repeat from the beginning. It is necessary to be absolutely modern.) A web of profound statements: Like a »flood it washes over you« and you try to understand and follow. But when you listen more closely the words loose their sense. Connections seem to exist for a short time and immediately seem to be broken. The two protagonists repeatedly make apt comments about their dialogue and their work. They talk about: »quite unimportant stuff« and declare: »Here we’re not talking to one another but one after the other.«
A house in Sauerlach, Bavaria: Two actresses are standing in the rain, holding umbrellas. An unbroken dialogue between the women runs through various scenes and places: The sentence spoken in the rain is finished inside the house or repeated inside a small car, and the cuts in the picture are tied together by the sound track. The protagonists also change their appearances, they are in the house, wearing costumes and it resembles a rehearsal. They are standing in the rain in everyday clothes. There is an interplay of speaking and acting, we experience the artistic production process of a film which will not be made. (Juliane Guder)
