Hommage an Schwitters
Annebarbe Kau &
A contemporary rendition of what Kurt Schwitters had attempted in his onomatopoetic poems and, above all, in the Ur-Sonate (1925): Annebarbe Kau succeeds in not only inserting the sound quality of letters onomatopoetically, but brings it graphically and compositionally into the image. Together they produce a full score of letters, letter groups, colors and human voices. The three-voiced rendered 'mmm' of the last frame concludes a 'dramatic crescendo': a small 'Gesamtkunstwerk' in which Schwitters would have had pure joy.
